SERVICES

Elevate from communicating—to engaging.

With public involvement services from PBS, clients go beyond simply transmitting information to engaging their community in a meaningful, productive process of learning and collaboration.

Public Involvement Services

From informing stakeholders to incorporating their ideas, every project has a different opportunity for public involvement. PBS can help you decide which approach to take, and then make it happen. Because our team works side by side with PBS technical staff, all outreach activities support the technical needs of the project, while presenting complex information simply and straightforwardly.

  • We are committed to enhancing agencies’ outreach with diverse, equitable, and inclusive solutions, including multilingual materials and personal invitations. As part of the process, our team will also identify those who may be disproportionately affected by the project, with the goal of improving community transparency, inclusion, and accessibility during planning and design. Our efforts have helped multiple agencies transform their typical outreach with robust accessibility features and inventive virtual options to ensure all audiences feel seen, valued, and heard.

We are experienced in working with a wide range of stakeholders, including residents and property owners; business owners; schools and school districts; local and regional transit agencies; and community-based, faith-based, and nonprofit organizations, through broad public outreach as well as one-on-one interviews and small-group discussions.

  • We design surveys to capture stakeholders’ demographic data as well as their priorities and preferences around key project elements and design concepts. Surveys can be delivered electronically and in hard copy, with multilingual versions to reach the widest audience possible. From word choice to graphic colorization, font size to format, all survey aspects are made with comprehension and ease in mind. Upon completion, our data analysis allows teams to learn more about their stakeholders and leverage both feedback and concerns for solutions that best serve the broadest range of wishes and needs.
